Visa

Travellers to Madagascar from most countries, holding a passport with at least one free page and at least six-months residual validity, are eligible for a tourist visa on arrival; you may check your visa requirements or buy your on-line visa on https://evisamada-mg.com/en/home.

Please, note that a pre-issued on-line tourist visa is the strongly recommended choice for participating to TUR2025. Organisers will not be responsible for the participants’ individual immigration difficulties and will be able to give limited assistance in this matter.

Money

The ariary (MGA) is the national currency and the only accepted in Madagascar. The ariary is not traded internationally and cannot be purchased from currency exchange offices abroad.

Debit and credit cards can be used to draw from ATM machines, but the maximum drawable amount might change from bank to bank.

Time and schedule constraints may affect the access to ATM machines, banks or currency exchange offices in Antananarivo. Street changers provide no security are not recommended by the organisers.

While Antsirabe is a small town with very little petty crime, the access to ATM machines could still be limited by time or schedule constraints. Currency exchange offices in Antsirabe can hardly be considered as a reliable option.

Our logistic support includes the facilitation with trusted traders for the exchange of foreign currency into ariary and vice versa at a fair rate, on arrival and departure. Participants are invited to consult with the organisers in order to forecast the amount of their desired extra expenses and allow the preparation of the corresponding amount in ariary.
